Birla School, Pilani is committed to empowering young girls by equipping them with essential self-defense skills, because every girl deserves to feel safe, confident, and fearless. As part of this commitment, the school is conducting a six-day self-defense training programme from 13th to 18th July for 60–70 girls of Classes VII to XI. The sessions are being conducted under the guidance of the teachers, with Mrs. Anita Makani and Mrs. Meena Kumari serving as the master trainers. The training focuses on practical and effective self-defense techniques. It began with discipline and fitness drills, followed by lessons on maintaining a proper fighting stance, basic punches, defensive blocks, and escape techniques. Special emphasis is being laid on situational awareness, helping students identify potential threats, protect themselves, and respond confidently in challenging situations.Organised under the initiative of the College Education Department, the programme reinforces the message that self-defense is not about harming others—it is about developing the confidence, awareness, and courage to protect oneself and face any situation with resilience.
